Seventh month milestones for your baby

By now you must have known your baby’s favourite song. And make sure that it is your favourite song too as you may have to sing it many a times. When you finish singing it, your seven month baby will ask you to repeat it. Your baby loves repetition of her favourite things. It gives her a sense of mastery. She feels as if she knows what is next and thinks she is smart. It gives her confidence to do this.

Playtime becomes an essential part of her life now. She will become busy with play. Give her big blocks and watch her play. Sometimes she will be experimenting with them, sometimes chewing them, sometimes putting them closer, sometimes transferring them from one hand to the other, and sometimes even banging them to produce irritating noise to your ears. She will also build a tower out of it and will then knock it down. And she will thoroughly be enjoying them.

Your baby can now sit upright. It makes a real difference now. Her hands become free to touch, grab, pick and drop. She may have started crawling. And she will have an eye on all the dangerous and enticing areas. You should now also crawl and spot these places to keep her away. You will have to be on your toes now. She will make you run all around the house by her crawling. You may have to look for her all over the house.

It is not only her hands and knees which are at work. Even her teeth are at work. By now her first tooth must be out. She is ready for solid food and moved away from puree and strained food. She can even nibble on a biscuit. She will enjoy every bit of it. A trainer cup can be introduced to her now. She can move away from the bottle and start using the cup for milk and water.
